How Ptosis Props work
Blepharospasm/Ptosis Props are used to prevent eyelids from drooping due to Blepharospasm/Ptosis. Individuals with Ptosis who are not candidates for reparable surgery or who are looking for an alternative treatment, may consider Ptosis Props.
A Ptosis Prop is bar that is placed along the inside of the upper eyelid that supports the drooping eyelid. The prop is positioned where the orbital fold would typically be without Ptosis. The prop should create a fold above the eye, tucking the lid in and raising it above the pupil.The Ptosis prop is designed around the shape and contour of the eye. It is typically made out of metal wire but in our case, we use moulded plastic to create the prop which makes them more comfortable.

Ptosis props are made to fit our Sunglasses. Your optician can easily replace the lenses with prescription lenses if required.
